My soul floated beside him, my eyes fell on the corpse, and the tearing pain surrounded me again.
"Henry, can you let me speak this time?" I wondered.
In order to allow him to do the autopsy in peace, Daniel moved all the other things in the hall outside.
For three consecutive days, Daniel accompanied him and helped him.
They were the most tacit partners in solving cases.
Henry hardly ate anything for three days and only relied on sugar water to stay energetic.
The corpse finally took on a human appearance.
He wiped the sweat from his forehead with a sigh of relief.
But when his eyes fell on the corpse's right hand, and he suddenly frowned.
There was a finger missing.
Daniel's eyes were filled with anxiety. Seeing that Henry remained silent, he asked directly, "How is it? Any clues? I've searched all the related stuff in the past three days, but there's nothing I can use. Damn it!"
Henry picked up the sugar water on the table, took a gulp and said, "I can only tell that the victim was a young female. There were so many wounds on her body that I cannot tell which one was the fatal one.
"Also, before death, the body was skinned, which made it easier to break the body into smaller pieces. The body was probably bled intentionally and then washed by rain, so there was very little blood left on the body parts. This is also a big challenge for DNA testing."
Hearing this, several old detectives around wanted to weep.
Daniel couldn't help but slam his hands on the table and said angrily, "Damn bastard!"
But then Henry added one last sentence, "If I'm not mistaken, the victim must have been pregnant not for long. Her pelvis has already shown signs of expansion, but now it has been crushed by gravity, so I can't tell the specific time of her pregnancy."
After he said that, the hall fell silent for a moment.
Several detectives clenched their fists with anger in their eyes.
"What kind of hatred could lead to such a cruel act? Whoever did this is not a human being!
"The murderer must have put a lot of effort in chopping the body into pieces. Throwing the body parts to us was probably just a provocation..."
Daniel frowned, his eagle eyes almost popping out.
The atmosphere in the hall was solemn.
Henry's right hand was shaking violently as he wrote the report. After a moment, he slammed the pen heavily on the table.
Daniel also looked up at the same time.
They looked at each other.
