Early in the morning, I got ready with exquisite makeup, donning the Chanel suit I had bought just two days ago and carrying the latest Hermes bag, and headed straight to the Scott family residence.
As soon as I entered the Scott Group building, I threw my Hermes bag onto the reception desk and angrily asked, "Where's your director Matt now?"
The receptionist respectfully led me to his office.
I pushed open the door and saw Matt. I went crazy and hurled my bag at him.
"Matt, is this what you call a social engagement? Engaging with another woman in bed?"
"Ashley, calm down first. There's nothing between me and Jane. Yesterday it wasn't just me."
"There were also some other friends. It was just a welcome banquet."
I continued to stir up my emotions and pushed Matt.
"A welcome banquet? You told me it was a social engagement. Matt, do you like her? Is that why you didn't dare take me to meet her?"
"Ashley, please stop causing a scene. The most important thing now is to handle this situation immediately. The Scott Group is in a crucial stage of bidding, and we can't let these things disrupt it."
Matt came over and tried to calm me down, patting my back.
I pushed his hand away and took out my phone, thrusting it in front of him.
It was a photo of Matt and Jane kissing.
"You tell me this was just a welcome banquet, that you're just friends," I said mockingly.
Matt rushed over and tried to snatch my phone.
"Ashley, where did you get this photo? It can't be leaked, or else Ashley will lose her face."
I chuckled at Matt. "Lose face? This photo has already been spread all over the place. What face does a homewrecker like her still have?"
"What are you saying? I need to go find Jane right now."
In a panic, Matt rushed out to find Jane and accidentally pushed me.
I suddenly clutched my stomach as cold sweat flowed down my forehead.
"Ashley, what's wrong?" Matt asked anxiously as he rushed to support me.
Looking at my pale face, Matt picked me up and hurried to the underground garage, driving me to the hospital.
I didn't see Matt when I woke up.
Monica handed me a bowl of warm water.
"Ashley, you didn't have to risk the child like this," Monica looked at me with a pained expression.
"Monica, you taught me that you have to give up something to gain something. Besides, I know what I'm doing. This child is important."
I replied as I took the bowl from her and started drinking.
