Reborn Luna Rejecting my ruthless AlphaChapter 1
Freya POV
The dank, musty air of the dungeon clung to me like a second skin.
Me – the Luna of Silverfang Pack huddled in the corner of my cold, stone cell, my hands protectively cradling my belly. My pups within me stirred restlessly as if they could sense my distress or maybe from hunger.
I’ve been trapped in this darkness for what – days? Weeks? I lost count already. But I have to stay alive… I have to keep my pups alive so that Rowan would find us.
The rogues who had kidnapped me were cruel and merciless. They’ve taunted me daily, reminding me of how helpless I was; how despite being the Luna of the mighty Alpha Rowan – he was yet to come to my rescue. But I’ve refused to give up hope.
Rowan was the most powerful Alpha among all the packs in the region. Surely, he would come for me. He has to. I was on my way from the hospital to tell him that I was pregnant when I was kidnapped – my beta was killed and so all the guards with me.
Trembling, I closed my eyes again to try to contact Rowan. I knew my wolf was getting weak from the lack of food and air but I had to keep trying. Although I’ve tried countless times to mind-link him, it has been fruitless so far. It was either he would leave the link open and wouldn’t say a word or he would not respond.
But for the sake of our unborn pups, I had to keep fighting.
“Rowan,” I whispered in my mind again, pouring every ounce of my remaining strength into the link. “Please, my mate. I need you. The rogues have taken me. I heard them mention going south and I don’t know if that was where we ended up. Please… for me… for the sake of our unborn babies who are in danger. Please find us.”
I waited and for a moment, there was nothing but the usual silence that had greeted me from previous attempts. I had nearly ended the link when I felt a flicker of response. I felt Rowan's presence as he connected to the link and my heart soared with hope.
“Rowan darling –”
I started to say when he interrupted me.
“Enough of your drama, Freya,” his voice echoed, cold and dismissive. “I’m in the middle of an important meeting. Stop trying to get my attention with these games.”
My heart sank. “But Rowan, I’m not…”
