However, this became an excuse for his arrogance.
I ignored Max and drove home.
My parents bought me the villa. I could not wait to go back and throw all of Max's things out. I felt sick just thinking about it.
When I got home, I saw the servant, Linda Perry, standing at the door and sighing.
Even through the door with excellent sound insulation, I could hear the noise inside.
"Linda, what's going on?" I asked with a frown
I was happy to see Linda again. After all, she had taken care of me since I was a child.
Linda sighed, "Stella, your mother-in-law and some of her relatives are here."
She wiped her bloodshot eyes. Obviously, she had just cried. "They... They said I was a servant and not worthy of staying in the same room with them, so they kicked me out."
Upon hearing this, I got furious. "Linda, you are a family member, not a servant."
I suppressed my anger and forced a smile. Then, I took Linda's hand and opened the door.
When I opened the door, Olivia Hardy, my mother-in-law, yelled harshly, "You damn servant! Didn't I tell you that you are not worthy to be in the same room with us? Get out of here!"
When Olivia saw me, her arrogance did not subside, and she even sneered.
She sat cross-legged on the sofa worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and said to the relatives she brought with her, "Oh, it's you, Stella, the infertile bitch."
"What's the use of being rich? She can't even conceive.
"She and Max have been married for more than three months, but she is still not pregnant. Who knows if it's because she was promiscuous before marriage and has become infertile?"
"Max shouldn't have married her."
Olivia's relatives started speaking caustically.
Seeing that I was silent, Olivia thumped the table, stood up, and pointed at me. She shouted, "Are you dumb? We are all your elders, and you didn't even greet us. I'm warning you, Stella. If you don't serve us well, I will let Max divorce you!"
"Stella, don't be ungrateful. No man wants a divorced woman."
"That's right. If she is divorced, she is an abandoned woman."
"You are wrong. Is she pure now? It's said that rich girls are promiscuous. I guess she might have aborted children before."
Max's aunts were eating desserts while slandering me.
Linda was so angry that she pointed at them and retorted, "How can you talk like that? Stella has been excellent since she was young. How dare you slander her?"
