I struggled to get up but then fell down again.

Everyone around me was looking at me like I was a freak, and no one offered to help me up.

"Mom, mom..."

I couldn't hear my own voice and tears streamed down my face, blurring my vision.

I could feel my hand grasping my mother-in-law's hand, but then everything went black and I passed out.

When I woke up, I had bruises all over my body.

I went to the morgue to claim the body.

After completing all the necessary paperwork, I had only six dollars left.

I bought bread and went to Ryan's company building with the urn.

But I didn't see him for three days.

Ryan called me on the fourth day.

"Hello..."

"Riley! Are you crazy? Bringing the urn to my company building to block me? My colleagues have been calling me non-stop! I tell you, if I get fired, you'll starve to death!"

At this point, I didn't even have the energy to argue with him. But I still wanted to see him one last time.

"Where are you?"

He was silent for a long time before giving me an address.

It was a new bar.

It was like a maze inside, and I searched for a long time before I found the room he mentioned.

"Andy, you're still young. You don't understand. I'll tell you, a wife is like a dog. You don't have to put in so much effort. Look at my wife. Isn't she trying her best to please me every day? The less you care about women, the more they can't live without you."

I opened the door and saw Ryan crossing his legs and leaning back on the sofa, looking cool.

And his so-called good friends were looking at him in admiration.

The ten years I had spent taking care of the family was a joke.

Rachel Parker was sitting next to Ryan, looking pretty like a flower.

Compared to her, I was supposed to lose.

I remembered that I was the same age as Rachel, even a few months younger.

But now I looked like I was ten years older than her.

"Ryan, are you really not going to give Rachel a formal status?"

What was Rachel worried about? There was even a hint of concern on her face.

Her hand trembled as she tried to pick a mango.

"Of course I'm going to give Rachel a status."

Rachel obviously breathed a sigh of relief.

His friends opened champagne to celebrate.

"I thought Ryan wouldn't be able to let go of his wife after ten years of marriage," one of them said.

"Yes, I remember that Ryan's anniversary is Rachel's birthday," another added.

This reminded me as well.
