"Zachary, I didn't expect you to use such a trick. I know you're jealous of me because of Nora, but you can't use this trick, and Nora will get upset when she finds out."
I didn't say anything as I watched his righteous indignation.
Perhaps Ethan thought I was scared, so he continued to push his luck. "Why don't you give me the lot in Blanton at the next bidding and help me pay for it? It would be best if the Anderson Group worked with my company on a few more projects to get mine growing. I'll consider speaking up for you in front of Nora.
"How was it? Good deal, huh?"
By the time Ethan finished speaking, I had just finished replying to George's message.
Seeing that I ignored him, Ethan seemed to feel humiliated, so he shouted angrily, "Zachary, did you hear me?"
"Is that all?" I asked calmly.
Ethan was stunned for a moment, thought about it, and said, "It would be perfect if you give me another five percent of shares in the Anderson Group."
Look at his condescending attitude, as if I owed him billions of dollars.
"Just daydream for now." With that, I turned around and left.
As I walked, I wondered why I was so stupid in my previous life to be fooled by someone like Ethan.
By the time I got back to the office, Nora was already waiting inside.
Ethan had soon complained to Nora.
"Zachary, I didn't think you'd push me with such a trick." Nora seemed to read my mind.
"Why did you get Ethan disqualified from bidding? Did you think that would bring me to my knees?"
She glared at me with arrogance in her eyes.
"Ms. Lewis, the Murphy Group didn't meet the requirements for the bidding session." My secretary stepped in to help me explain.
"I'm talking to Zachary. Who are you as a secretary to interrupt?"
"He's right," I couldn't stand to see Nora bullying my staff, so I said coldly.
"Aren't you doing this to use Ethan to force me to apologize to you? Look, no way."
"Let her leave." I didn't bother to argue with this crazy woman.
Just as Nora was about to say something, George pushed the door open.
"Zach, didn't you ask me to come with you to buy the villa?"
Hearing that, Nora suddenly came to her senses, and the mockery on her face became even more obvious.
Maybe she thought I bought the villa to please her.
"Did you think I would forgive you just because you bought the villa? No way. If you want me to forgive you, you should apologize to my family." Nora's eyes were filled with smugness.
