My action generated a reaction from the omega who gasped in surprise but I ignored him. It was right at that time that something fell out of the torn brown paper and I looked down to see that it was a white piece of paper.
"Pick that up now," I instructed the omega before I decided to take a good look at the parcel I had with me after tearing the brown paper used to wrap it.
The parcel was a box of jewelry. And it wasn't just any jewelery. I didn't need someone else's eyes to realize that it was a gold jewelry with a diamond piece which screamed just how expensive the jewelry was.
This couldn't be for me, could it? My husband knows I don't fancy gold jewelries. Instead, I preferred sapphires. Who then could he be trying to gift a jewelery as expensive as this?
I had my hand stretched toward the omega who immediately put the piece of paper that had dropped earlier. I had a bad feeling about the content of the paper which actually made me feel tense. However, I knew I had to see what was in it if I needed to get my head out of this dilemma.
'Enjoy your birthday gift, love. I cannot wait for us to welcome our child into this world together.'
That was what the content of the paper read which was written boldly in my husband's handwriting. Yes, I'm pregnant with my husband's child but if he wanted to give me a gift, he didn't need to send an omega. He could easily gift me himself since we stay inside the same building.
I began to think it was some sort of mistake from the omega and wanted to question him about it until I decided to take another look at the content of the piece of paper.
'Dear Chloe' was what was right atop the piece of paper. How had I missed it in the first place?
This doesn't sound right. My name isn't Chloe. I'm Natalia and my husband knows that.
All of a sudden, it began to click. It was making so much sense in my head now. The omega's skepticism, the expensive gold jewelry that had a diamond piece in it and wasn't exactly my taste, an unfamiliar name that definitely didn't match mine...
My husband was cheating on me!
NATALIA:
I wasn't exactly sure how to feel after the realization dawned on me. I only remember dropping the parcel before walking off back to the packhouse absentmindedly.
