"Lucy!" Gerald immediately threw down the fruit plate, his eyes red with heartache, "How did you get cut? Don't move, my dear."
He searched the medicine box and found a band-aid and carefully helped me put it on.
"Does it still hurt?"
I looked at him with red eyes and big tears fell on the back of his hand. I couldn't figure it out. How could such a careful man who loved me so much cheat on me?
Gerald thought I was crying because of the pain. He leaned close to my finger and kissed it, gently comforting me.
"I will blow on you and it won't hurt in a while."
Gerald turned off the lights, hugged me gently from behind and his warm breath hit the back of my neck.
"Wife, I actually wanted to spend some time with you tonight. But my dear hand is injured, so I'll just hug Lucy and have a good sleep."
I didn't say anything.
After a while, I heard Gerald's even breathing behind me and he fell asleep.
I stared at Gerald's face in the dark and my tears wet the pillow.
It was said that when people were in love, they would secrete a love hormone called phenylethylamine that made people confused and happy. But its peak concentration was only up to six months to four years.
People in the entertainment industry said that people were not long-lasting creatures and love that lasts until death was against nature.
But at the wedding, Gerald swore to me with a deep affection: “I will go against my instincts, go against my nature and love you forever.”
But now, he was no different from other men. I really couldn't sleep, so I got up and went to the study and opened the laptop by instinct.
Clicking on the familiar document folder where the video was saved, I found it was blank. Gerald had deleted it.
I returned to the bed and Gerald, who was sleeping soundly, noticed that I was moving and subconsciously hugged me tightly.
"Lucy! Don't leave me!" He kissed my forehead and fell asleep again.
When I mentioned this the next day, he didn't remember it.
"Lucy, come and have breakfast."
Looking at a large table of rich breakfast, I just sat down and Gerald handed me my favorite sandwich.
"Lucy, do you want to participate in the filming of "Love Ends"? If you agree, I will let the drama party leave the heroine to you." Gerald asked me with a smile.
