Seeing that I was silent, Lindsay spoke sourly.
"Sarah is so lucky. She was born a rich and beautiful lady. Both of her childhood friends are devoted to you. I don't have such a good life. If it weren't for Sarah's support, I wouldn't be able to go to school."
Hearing this, the two childhood friends felt distressed. "Lindsay, don't say that. You are so beautiful and so outstanding. You will definitely have a bright future waiting for you in the future. When you graduate, I will let my dad arrange a position for you as the general manager."
"No, Lindsay, come to my company. I will give you a higher position and treatment. I will give you everything you want!"
The two of them argued with each other for Lindsay. I couldn't help but feeling sad.
After knowing each other for so many years, they had never given me such promises and preferences. Sure enough, pretended love couldn’t compare to the deep affection from the bottom of the heart.
When I was about to leave, Jeremy noticed my strangeness. He held my hand with a guilty conscience. "Sarah, don't worry, we are good to Lindsay because she is your friend."
Shawn rubbed my head like a child. "Don't think too much, you have finally finished the exam, drive out for a drive, we have prepared a gift for you."
I nodded and did not refuse. I was about to leave. I also wanted to take a last look at this city where we grew up together.
When we arrived at the garage, Jeremy and Shawn rushed to let Lindsay get on their passenger seat.
Lindsay looked at me pretending to be embarrassed. "Isn't it only Sarah that can sit on your passenger seat? If I sit, she will be unhappy."
Jeremy took the lead in pressing Lindsay on the passenger seat. "She doesn't deserve it... She won't, she has the best temper."
Shawn glared at Jeremy in annoyance. He slammed the car door with an unhappy face.
It was not until the car was about to start that the two realized that I hadn't gotten in the car yet. They rolled down the car window and looked at each other. They wanted to explain awkwardly, but couldn't find a suitable reason.
So I said, "It's okay, I'll just drive my own car."
Hearing me say this, they both breathed a sigh of relief, but they were surprised by my abnormal behavior.
"Sarah..." Jeremy tried to call out to me.
