I laughed modestly while reflecting on my childish behavior. I wanted Zac to personally send me to that hospital and then personally dissect my remains.
On the first day after we landed, Zac pushed my wheelchair to the beach. The sunset cast a beautiful glow over the sea, but my mood was shattered by a message from Carmen. It was a photo of her and Zac in bed on our wedding night.
I exited the screen without responding, unfazed. Soon, another message came, this time a video. "Elizabeth, you can bear the photo, but can you handle this video?"
Just from the thumbnail, I knew it was the video from the cave. The truth I had been searching for so many years.
I turned to Zac with a smile and said, "I want some hot milk."
Zac was somewhat surprised. Recently, I have changed my personality. I was no longer trying to please him carefully or feel inferior, but rather make more and more straightforward demands of him.
He smiled back. "Stay here, Liz. I'll get you some hot milk."
Once Zac was gone, I sent the video and photos to a lawyer. My hands trembled as I opened the video.
Carmen was initially clothed, but Zac had torn her clothes apart. They were acting wildly in the cave, like primitive people from prehistoric times, driven by raw desire and devoid of restraint. Meanwhile, their friends were laughing and joking nearby, covering for them.
Carmen gasped provocatively amidst her moans, "Zac, do you dare not go back to your girlfriend's birthday tonight?"
Zac didn't reply, only exerted himself more. Carmen mischievously grabbed Zac's phone and started typing. "Honey, I'm trapped in a cave. I won't be back until tomorrow. Work hard! ️"
Before long, firefighters began to arrive one after another. Their friends grew scared and went early, leaving only the lovebirds reluctant to depart. Later, Zac sent me a message, warning me not to call for help again.
Lost in their entanglement, they didn't notice my message saying I was coming to rescue them until I had almost reached the mountains. Zac panicked. "Liz can't find out I'm lying! Think of something!"
Carmen looked at their shared research kit and picked up an oxygen mask. "Look, isn't this all poison? Why not make it real if you don't want to lie?"
