Looking at the man who was guarding me like a flood and a beast, my heart aches for a while. I couldn't figure out how the gentle and considerate man who cried and begged me to marry him would pretend to have amnesia and lie to me.

I then replied, “I just wanted to tell you that our cat, Rosie, had three kittens. One is white…”

Before I could finish, he interrupted impatiently, “I don't like cats at all. I also don't remember anything about us.”

I looked straight into his eyes. I was just trying to find a trace of guilt emotion in his gaze. But there wasn't anything at all.

“Cats are such troublesome creatures, only you girls like them. You should stop trying to jog my memory, what can be forgotten is not important.”

Maximilian's face was full of disgust as if it was too annoying to even look at me. “You hurry up and leave me. My girlfriend will be here soon.”

I was just about to leave when the door was pushed open.

“Sorry, Pauline. Maximilian doesn't even remember you now. It's not too good to still live in Maximilian's house, right?”

Without waiting for me to speak, Maximilian hurriedly spoke, “Enough, Jocelyn. If she wants to live there, let her live. You have to help me pack up my things now. Please, don't gas yourself!”

Maximilian said it with a few hints of warning. Even though my heart was almost dying from the pain, I still managed to force a smile on him.

“I'll move out, Maximilian. Don’t worry.”

I took a taxi back to the villa. When I opened the door and looked at a piece of festive red. My heart was slightly sour.

The cell phone ding-donged a few times. It was a message from Jocelyn Reverie.

Jocelyn: [Maximilian wants you to move out in a hurry, Pauline. We will especially come to help you pack.]

I was just about to refuse for a while. But the door opened the next moment.

Jocelyn smiled condescendingly. “You have to move it all out before nightfall, Pauline, or else throw it all out!”

I looked at Maximilian. I felt somewhat incredulous at that moment. But he didn't even look at me at all. Maximilian just rubbed Jocelynn's head with some pampering.

“You have to take a rest, Jocelyn. I'll clean up.”

I looked at his gentle movements. It made me a little dazed. I knew that he had a cleanliness fetish. It made him not want to touch or contact outsiders casually. Even though Jocelynn was his childhood friend, he treated her like a stranger in front of me before.
