In the past, everyone in this small circle knew that I had a crush on Shawn, but I refused to fall in love, rejected countless blind dates and cut off all peach blossoms for him. But now, I know I was wrong.
I didn’t want to watch my daughter being born in expectation and dying in despair like in my previous life.
Just as Shawn was about to speak, my brother's terrified cry suddenly came from behind him. "Ahhh, damn it, why is there an extra person in the house..."
He rushed over and pointed at the room upstairs with a trembling hand. "Lilian, when did she sleep in our house?"
Shawn closed the door with a serious face and explained calmly. "I brought her here last night. She was tired after a night and couldn't get used to staying in a hotel, so I brought her back to have a good rest."
"What?!" My brother looked at him with a complicated expression, then looked at me.
"You...didn't you last night?" he almost shrieked.
Finally, his eyes fell on our necks suspiciously.
I hurriedly fled, "Brother, I'm going back to sleep first."
I quickly fled back to the room and I could still hear their voices coming from behind the closed door. Maybe my brother was questioning Shawn about what was going on.
It was lunchtime at noon and my brother knocked on the door and called me out for dinner, but I didn't get up.
"Brother, I'm not hungry yet, you guys eat." I juts replied casually.
Soon, Lilian's chuckle came from outside. "I'll call Sonia to get up. Speaking of which, it was all thanks to Sonia that Shawn and I got together so quickly last night."
The door was knocked softly again. "Sonia, I'm Lilian. Just give me some face and come out to have lunch together."
My parents and brother had taught me to be polite since I was a child. Guests should be treated with respect. I had no choice but to bite the bullet and open the door.
At the dinner table, Shawn said nothing, but gently picked up dishes for Lilian. In just a few minutes, the bowl in front of her was piled up like a mountain.
"Shawn, Sonia is still here. Sonia was already in a bad mood because of what happened last night. She will be jealous again soon."
Shawn looked up at me coldly, "Why is she jealous? You are the one I want to marry. I, like Juan, only treat her as a sister."
I ate the rice in the bowl quietly without saying a word. It tasted like wax.
My brother opened his mouth, but he hesitated to speak and sighed repeatedly.
