After a night’s rest, I arrived at the company early the next morning.

An employee approached me and told me that Hyacinth had called a board meeting and that I should head to the conference room as soon as I arrived.

What was she up to now?

Stepping into the conference room, my gaze immediately fell on Zavier, sitting in my seat.

The shareholders exchanged glances, their eyes holding a strange mix of curiosity and unease.

Without a word, I found a seat, leaning back as I turned my attention to Hyacinth, who sat at the head of the table. "What do you want?"

Her expression was ice-cold, her stare sharp. "Tobias, you have two choices. Either resign or stay married to me."

"Divorce." I didn’t hesitate for a second.

Her hands trembled with anger, but her voice remained firm. "Fine. Then I officially announce your dismissal from all positions at Berry Trading!"

Zavier shot me a smug look, a sneer playing on his lips. "Tobias, even if I don’t get anything from her family, this company will still have a place for me in the future!"

"A place for you?"

I let out a soft chuckle, barely sparing him a glance. "What do you amount to?"

Then, with a calm, piercing gaze, I asked, "Do you really think Hyacinth will marry you?"

Zavier, full of confidence, met my eyes without hesitation.

But Hyacinth looked at him, cold and distant. "I already told you—we're just superior and subordinate. Don't overthink it."

"Hyacinth?"

"How can you say that?"

Her gaze remained cold. "Not to mention that nothing ever happened between us, but even if it had, even if I truly divorced Tobias, I would never marry someone like you."

Zavier froze. "What kind of person am I?"

"You’re the kind of man who thinks he can climb to the top by relying on women, aren’t you?"

Hyacinth's gaze was sharp. "I was kind to you because Tobias no longer treated me the way he once did. I only wanted to make him jealous. I even went to the club last night because I knew he would be there. Otherwise, I never let you get close before, so why would I suddenly let you hold me yesterday?"

"You…"

Zavier’s entire world seemed to shatter before his eyes, his confidence crumbling into dust.
