"I asked you to go to the banquet. Look at what good things you have done!"
My father threw the phone at me. I lowered my head and my face turned pale instantly after seeing the photo.
"Shameful thing, if you were half as obedient as your sister, how could this happen?"
"Kneel here. When the matter is resolved, you can get up again."
I was kicked to my knees on the floor with a loud bang.
There was warmth sliding down my cheeks from the corner of my forehead, but I didn't care anymore.
In my mind, there was only the photo of me and the kidnapper lying together in the phone. That photo that only one person knew about was released just like that.
I sneered and raised the mechanical pen in my hand, smashing it into the trash can without hesitation.
The person who gave me this pen and said he would protect me for life was Austin. Now the person who personally pushed me into the abyss was still him, Austin.
I was trembling all over and my consciousness gradually began to blur.
Until the door of the study was suddenly knocked open.
Austin's voice came clearly into my ears. "How can Suzy marry the man from the Jonas Family? Everyone in this country knows his perverted methods."
"Then who do you think should do it?" My father sneered.
Austin hesitated for only a moment. "I am willing to give up all the shares of the Jenner Family in exchange for Suzy's freedom. You must know all the problems of the Barley Family without me telling you. I promise you that when I inherit the Jenner Family, I will never touch the Barley Family. As long as I can exchange Suzy's freedom, I will do anything!"
"You are the bodyguard brought home by Emily. Is it worth hurting Emily like this for an illegitimate daughter?" My father deliberately raised his voice.
Austin still said firmly without hesitation, "For Suzy, everything is worth it."
The villa was very quiet late at night and Austin's voice came clearly into my ears.
My heart hurt as if it was cut open, but I could only laugh at myself. The sharp blade that I cultivated for eight years finally stabbed me.
I didn't care about the pain on my body, I got up in a mess and pushed open the half-closed door of the study.
"I am willing to go for the marriage."
My father curled his lips with satisfaction. But Austin looked at my face full of panic.
I smiled with relief and tore the contract that I had hidden close to my body into pieces.
