Your Love Means Nothing to MeChapter 1

I’m a mortuary restoration specialist.

On the night before my wedding, I restored the body of an unnamed woman—only to find out it was Celine's mother, who had been missing for days.

I barely had time to tell her the news before I was bound and dragged to an underground fighting arena.

They destroyed my face, poisoned my voice, and after drugging me, they forced me onto the stage to be auctioned off as a stress-relief toy.

With my eyes swollen shut, I could barely see, but I caught a glimpse of Celine making out with her little lover amidst the cheers.

“Celine, is it true that Kristian is back to messing with corpses? No wonder you came here to spend your bachelorette party with Liam!”

After the kiss, Celine hung herself on the man, casually adding, “Kristian loves to handle corpses, and I love to handle Liam—we both have our hobbies! I’m getting married tomorrow, so tonight, I should make Liam happy!”

As the auction began, announcing the stress-relief methods and prices, I struggled to give Celine a warning look.

But she thought I was flirting with her.

Disgusted, she spent two hundred thousand to secure the top bid for a hundred slaps across my face.

——

Celine was invited onto the stage, but she wouldn’t even spare me a second glance.

She put on the special gloves handed to her by the host and raised her hand, landing slap after slap across my face.

By the twentieth slap, my eardrums were ringing.

Warm liquid dripped from the corner of my mouth, and I couldn’t tell whether it was saliva or blood.

Celine shook her wrist and turned to smile sweetly at Liam in the audience.

“Liam, would you like to come up and try? It’s really a great way to release stress!”

“After all, these people are all gamblers who can’t pay their debts, beating them really feels quite satisfying!”

Liam covered his mouth, shaking his head, but excitement flickered in his eyes. “Celine, you do it. Watching you beat them is enough for me!”

His eyes were filled with excitement and provocation, and I couldn’t help but wonder—did he know who I really was?

I struggled to open my eyes wider, making muffled screams through the tape sealing my mouth.

But Liam pointed at me and said, “Celine, it seems like he’s enjoying it. I think you should continue!”
