"I used to think he adored his wife, but clearly it was all just an act."

"The Fanning Corporation already issued a statement, stripped him of his VP title, and Keira signed the divorce agreement. He even left with nothing. This proves the rumors are true; he really did fool around and even caught a disease."

"Sisters, take this as a warning: stay far away from men like him!”

The tide of public opinion surged, spreading like wildfire. It was obvious someone was fanning the flames behind the scenes.

And just as the old butler had said, Keira wanted nothing less than to utterly destroy my name.

I told the old butler, "Leave the online gossip alone. If Keira and Keanu are so eager to destroy my name, then I'll give them exactly what they want."

"When a month has passed, once I've collected the divorce certificate from Keira, I'll make sure to settle the score with them."

Until then, I stayed at the Harington family's old residence, shutting out the noise of the outside world.

When the day came for us to collect the divorce certificate, I arrived at the City Hall and the first thing I saw was Keira, arm-in-arm with Keanu, their bodies leaning close, laughter spilling between them as if the world belonged to them alone.

They looked like a pair fresh from the registry, hands entwined, faces glowing with the kind of sweetness only new couples wore.

When Keira spotted me, her smile disappeared like a candle snuffed out. She regarded me with a cold, superior stare.

"Gael, enjoying life lately?" she asked, her tone mocking.

"I warned you, once you leave me, no one will want you."

"You think you're exceptional, but without the Fanning family, you're nothing more than a hollow name."

"Tell me, are you regretting it now?"

Her lips curled faintly, a predator savoring the moment.

"For my dad's sake, I'll be generous. Kneel down here, in public, and apologize to me and Keanu, and maybe… just maybe, I won't divorce you."

Keanu's lips curled into a smirk as he drawled, "Gael, President Keira is giving you a chance; you'd better know how to treasure it. With the rumors about you spreading like wildfire, once you're divorced, you'll never rise again. No company will dare touch a man with such a filthy reputation…"

Before he could finish, I cut in, my tone calm but edged with steel.

"If I divorce Keira, isn't that exactly what you've been dreaming of?"
