Anne deliberately said, “My sister just loves you so much that she would go to any lengths to scheme against me. Don't blame her; I'm fine!”

Though she claimed to be fine, tears streamed down her face. My blind husband tenderly comforted her, asking if she was okay. Meanwhile, I just stood nearby, feeling like an outsider.

At that time, I still didn’t take it seriously. Someone who was accustomed to being wronged would not even feel it anymore. However, I never expected he would be so ruthless toward me.

After I was locked in the water dungeon, I cried and begged him, but Oliver just furrowed his brows and said, "Your one act of selfishness nearly cost my Anne her life!”

Even now, Oliver still was not content. He sits high on his “throne,” waiting for me to come to him and apologize. However, he would never get that chance. Oliver, I’ll never have the chance to apologize to you.

The assistant suddenly ran in in a panic, his voice trembling with a hint of tears. “Sir… Madam… she’s passed away!”

Oliver froze for a moment. It seemed unprepared for this turn of events. I stared at him intently, thinking that after all these years, he couldn't possibly remain unaffected by my death. Because if that were the case, I would be truly pitiful.

Turned out, Oliver was even more cold-hearted than I imagined. He smiled coldly and with an indifferent yet confident tone, he asked, “How much did she pay you to make up this nonsense? A troublemaker like her wouldn't dare to die. You've been with me for years; don't be so narrow-minded. If you join Isabel to deceive me, your future will be bad!”

The assistant clearly hadn’t expected things to turn out this way and even Anne was taken aback.

Oliver spoke cruelly, “Go tell her that if she doesn’t want me to freeze her card, she'd better get her ass over here in half an hour!”

“She’s not some spoiled princess anymore. If she keeps throwing tantrums, no one will be coaxing or begging her on their knees!”

At that moment, hearing these ruthless words, I didn't even have the strength to get angry.

It's funny, if he hadn't mentioned it, I would have forgotten that before marrying him, I was also the pearl of the capital...

My father was a real estate tycoon and my mother was once the princess of the capital’s elite circle. And I was the daughter they cherished in the palm of their hands.
