Jackie was furious. He rushed over, pointed his finger at my face, and started yelling, "Lilian, are you fucking having someone else? No wonder you're asking for a divorce! You're cheating on me, aren't you?!"
The noise was so loud that passing neighbors stopped at my door. My mother-in-law even opened the door.
"Come and see my shameless daughter-in-law!"
Instantly, the neighbors began pointing and whispering. My blood boiled in my chest. Looking at my mother-in-law's arrogant expression, she seemed to enjoy casually slandering me. I couldn't take it anymore and slapped Jackie.
"You're really sick!"
I immediately packed my things and took my daughter to the hospital. I sent my daughter to my mother's house and moved to the company to spend the night.
But unexpectedly, the next day at work, a colleague came up to me with a sullen look on his face.
"Lilian, go check it out! The boss knows everything."
My mind went blank as I rushed over, only to discover that my mother-in-law had actually found my company.
We were just sitting downstairs at the company and a scene erupted.
Amidst the throng, my mother-in-law held a banner and shouted from a loudspeaker, "Lilian! You cheated on me behind my son's back, you slut! You've squandered all my son's money, leaving me helpless in my old age without even a place to live. Give me back my son's hard-earned money!"
My intern, Julio Parker, left late last night and listened to my entire story. He was furious and volunteered to rush down with me.
He even explained to the onlookers, "There's no such thing. It's because Lilian ate an extra piece of meat that her mother-in-law is forcing her to divorce!"
My mother-in-law saw this and, as if she had caught something, she leaped over, grabbed Julio's arm, and cursed.
"Everyone, come and see. This is the cheater!"
She even thought there weren't enough people around, and she actually pulled out her phone and started a live stream. The camera was focused on us, and my mother-in-law was behind her phone, spitting and screaming nonsense.
"Look, everyone! This is my daughter-in-law and her cheater. My son's been married to her for ten years, and this is how she treats him. She's spent all his money on other men. What a filthy relationship!" My mother-in-law kept looking around the company.
