"Aren't you scared I'll tell my parents?"

“What good will telling the master and madam do? I’ll say you forced your way in and broke your leg jumping from the second floor. They won’t do anything.”

“Attack her!”

The men rushed at me, swinging their clubs. I heard my bones crack as my white wedding dress turned red with blood.

But they didn’t hold back, as if they meant to kill me. “If I die here today, the Blake Family won’t spare you!”

“You still think you’re the Blake Family’s daughter? You’re just a mistake they took in! If they didn’t pity you, you’d already be gone. When Miss Emily returned, they wanted to kick you out, but the young master said keeping you was like keeping an extra dog. And you still dream of stealing her husband?”

I laughed. “So you’re not afraid I’ll ruin the wedding. You just want to kill me!”

“Maybe you’ll just fall to your death while trying to escape, right, Miss?”

I was scared. I could die, but not like this… not yet. What if I couldn’t return? I didn’t know where the strength came from, but I shoved the person in front of me, knocking over the eternal lamp my mother lit for Emily. It hit the floor, set the curtains on fire and soon the whole villa was burning.

“You little brat! How dare you start a fire!”

While they panicked, I ran out, dragging my injured leg. The villa had cameras everywhere, so they didn’t dare chase me.

Wearing my bloodstained wedding dress, I limped onto the street, dragging my broken leg, trying to catch a taxi to the hotel.

Maybe I looked too frightening and no taxi stopped. Finally, a kind woman pulled over and I begged her to take me to the hotel.

The hotel belonged to my father and the staff knew me. So when they saw me, no one dared to stop me.

When I entered the hall, my brother and parents were happily greeting guests. But their smiles froze the moment they saw me.

Reporters from all over were at this famous wedding. When I suddenly appeared, they rushed over to take photos.

My brother stormed over. “Why are you here? Useless fools! You can’t even handle one girl! You did this on purpose to ruin us, didn’t you? Want to be on the front page? Want fame that badly?”

My mother rushed over, worried. “Katherine, what happened? Is that blood on your dress?”

“It’s my blood. Emily’s people beat me half to death and I barely escaped.”
